The bottom line: Our findings suggest that GLP-1RA and SGLT2i (and especially SGLT2i with the lowest number needed to treat (NNT) for nearly all study outcomes) may be the preferred glucose-lowering agents for cardiovascular risk reduction in patients at moderate risk for CVD, building on and consistent with existing RCT evidence in the high-risk population.
